PARC Education & Outreach Video
Students enrolled in the PARC/I-CARES Certificate in Renewable Energy and the Environment may choose to create ONE video featuring an energy or environment-oriented educational activity to earn 2 pts toward meeting the Outreach requirement of the certificate. These videos will be posted on the PARC website for the benefit of primary and secondary educators who are interested in bringing hands-on activities focused on energy and environment topics into their classrooms.
Students may develop their own activity through the PARC Education & Outreach Mini-Grant Program, feature one of the activities included in PARC’s Energy Kit curricula or modules located on the Web Resources page, discuss the main points/concepts of a type of renewable energy, or interview someone working in an energy-related field. Activities should be geared toward K-12 students and should be simple and inexpensive enough to be performed in the classroom.
Interested students should contact PARC’s Education & Outreach Coordinator, Rachel Ruggirello, to discuss and have their plans approved, and complete the webform below. Students will then be required to work with PARC Multimedia Specialist Dan Allen to record the video and post it on the PARC website. All videos will be vetted by the Certificate committee for content and appropriateness.
